About us

Kaiser Ingenieurbüro GmbH has been developing and producing mechatronic products in the medical technology, automotive, sensor technology as well as the industrial engineering sector for more than 35 years. Outstanding references include the development of the first MP3 player (Micronas), the first generation of xenon light (Bosch) and the first portable D-network telephone (Hagenuk). The extensive knowledge, gained within over 10 years of experience enabled Kaiser to find solutions for medical and laboratory technology products such as inhalers, insulin pens and general medical devices on behalf of leading pharmaceutical companies.

The accompanying tool and mold construction for injection molding processes allows for highest flexibility and competence in the fields of plastics and metal processing. Kaiser has accordingly specialised in the manufacture of prototypes and small series tools. The company's in-house plastic injection molding department enables us to supply everything from a single source. Kaiser currently employs 29 people. Amongst them are professional engineers, designers, master craftsmen, skilled workers and additional 6 trainees. Our customer base comprises a broad range reaching from medium-sized companies located in the region to large internationally operating corporations.

Founder interview

Every success is based on a vision. How did the Kaiser Ingenieurbüro's founding come about?

During my studies at the TH Karlsruhe I was collecting experience from different jobs in a broad range of fields - mechanical engineering, automation, plastics technology and mechatronics. This represented a major personal gain for me, especially in the practical part of my learning process which is why I consequently started very early to establish a professional network. I was attracted to plastics technology and mechatronics. At some point I had the vision of making me self-employed in this area and to grow my own business.

What were the biggest milestones for the company?

The first milestone has certainly been the decision of actually starting my own business immediately after finishing my mechanical engineering studies. In 1992, the next milestone comprised the construction of our office building in Endingen. The acquisition of our first machining centre including a CAM system represented a further milestone as well as the construction of our new tool and mold manufacture in 2000. Followed by many other milestones, the most recent relevant event was definitely the succession arrangement with Holger Ebin.

What has been the most exciting thing within the past 35 years?

Each of the past 35 years has been exciting! During these 35 years we have developed many interesting and innovative projects for our customers: The first D-network telephone, the first MP3 player, the first generation of rain sensors, the first xenon light. All of them were fascinating projects. In the last six years the Urin-Analyzer and the WetGate were certainly the most exciting projects. And what I can tell you is: It remains exciting. We are currently working on some new projects...

Which challenges will the company face in the digital world of the future?

We made the step from the analogue world, the drawing board, to the digital world very early with the first CAD system. But that was a very small step taking into account the changes that the industry 4.0 and even more the artificial intelligence combined with Big Data will cause! But I am not afraid of that. No, contrarily to that, we want to participate in the creation of the digital world through our projects. I am looking forward to that!
